The things that happen

... while I'm gone. The first time I got back from Montréal, I found out that the Deerfoot highway had just been assigned exit numbers for the ramps. This wasn't such a shock to me because Québec roads did the same. But the second time I got back from Montréal again, Highway 2 was renamed the Queen Elizabeth II Highway, better known as the QE2, as a result of the Queen's visit for Alberta's centennial celebration. Now that took a while to get used to. I just heard "QE2" my first time on the news today since the change has taken place (since I got back at least), and I have to admit - it doesn't sound that bad, even if it's already named for a cruise ship.
