Remembrance Day
I got this from Mikey's Funnies last night:
It is the soldier,
not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the soldier,
not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the soldier,
not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the soldier,
not the politician,
who has given us the right to vote.
It is the soldier,
not the campus organizer,
who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.
Let's remember them on Remembrance Day - Canada / Veteran's Day - United States today. Remember to take a moment of silence in honour of the men and women who sacrificed their lives so that we might be able to live ours in freedom and in peace.
